  • We are able to provide Damp Surveys and Drying Certificates which are usually required for the insurance company when a claim is made and drying has taken place.
  • The hire charges & cost of electricity consumed by the drying equipment can often be claimed back from your insurance company.
  • Be aware that the Hire Centres will not be able to supply you with the Drying Certificate you may require for your insurers.

Drying Emergency Tips, until help arrives:

Do:

  • Check the building is electrically safe
  • Stop the water flow if possible
  • Remove as much excess water as possible e.g Wipe down wood furniture, counter tops, etc.
  • Place aluminium foil or wood blocks under furniture that can't be moved to a dry area
  • Pin up curtains and upholstery skirts
  • Turn off the heating system until safety checks have been carried out.
  • Remove all non-color fast items like rugs from wet carpeting
  • Remove all loose items on the floor to a dry area

Don't:

  • Don't go near contaminated (sewer) water
  • Don't use electrical appliances in wet areas
  • Don't use your household vacuum to extract water
  • Don't place wet items on any absorbent surface
  • Don't turn on the heating until safety checks have been carried out.
  • Don't enter rooms if the ceiling is wet and sagging
  • Don't leave absorbent materials like boxes, papers, pillows, etc. in the wet area
